Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) in Newington, CT, seeks a Transportation Engineer 3 (Construction Engineering) to lead staff in CMAR/CMGC roles and serve as a project manager for alternative project delivery methods.
The role includes developing manuals, researching best practices, and training internal staff on policy, procedures, and project delivery methods. Position is hybrid after training, with standard 40-hour weeks.
The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is accepting applications for Transportation Engineer 3 (Construction Engineering) position in our Division of Construction Operations (DCO), in the Central Construction Unit at our Headquarters in Newington, Connecticut.
The focus of this position will be related to leading staff in the alternative contracting efforts including CMAR and CMGC acting as a project manager to facilitate the development and delivery of the alternative project delivery methods of Construction.
The position will coordinate the development and maintenance of process manuals for Department personnel for administering CMAR and CMGC projects. Among the expected assigned duties is to gather National Best Practices and technological advances related to construction of CMAR and CMGC projects to train in-house staff and develop training guidelines and policy and procedures.
The DCO is the central construction engineering and administrative office for the Office of Construction which administers construction projects statewide from design to final acceptance. The Central Construction Unit is responsible for Alternative Contracting.
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management and three (3) years of experience in transportation construction engineering.
One (1) year of the General Experience must have been at the working level in a professional transportation construction engineering capacity.
NOTE: For state employees this experience is interpreted at the level of a Transportation Engineer 2 (Construction Engineering).
