Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering.
• Ability to obtain PE license.
• 4-8 years' transportation/roadway design experience.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
• Proficient in MS Office; strong writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs process design of multi-discipline transportation projects, including evaluating alternatives, conducting engineering studies and design calculations, and performing preliminary and detailed design.
• Provide technical expertise to ensure compliance with design criteria, project scope, and state and federal design criteria and standards.
• Develops contract plans and prepares technical specifications and cost estimates.
• Assists with project execution and delivery including development of project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Coordinate day-to-day activities and coordination of engineers, designers, and technicians on a specific project.
• Perform quality control on engineering work products including design calculations, models, drawings, reports, specifications, and estimates.
• Assist with marketing and business development efforts.
• Effectively communicate/coordinate with clients, discipline leads, sub consultants, regulatory agencies, and utility companies.

Job description

Ardurra is seeking a Transportation Engineer in our Memphis, TN office! We are looking for an engineer with interest and experience in roadway/transportation design to support a wide range of local transportation and DOT projects. Projects will include but are not limited to minor and major/complex roadways and multimodal facilities and will offer the opportunity to mentor and guide junior staff and be mentored by some of the top local experts in the transportation industry.

Primary Function

This is an opportunity to play an important role in delivering a variety of transportation-related design projects, developing contract plans, specifications, and estimates for construction. This role will support the entire project design delivery process and will be responsible for leading engineering design tasks pertaining to roadway geometric design, production of plans, and writing of technical reports and documents.

Primary Duties

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering or related field
• Ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 4-8 years of engineering experience in transportation/roadway design
• Proficient in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer with the ability to train and supervise the technical work of engineers, designers, and technicians
• Proficient in MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
• Experience preparing final design plans, specifications, and estimates
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills
• Strong analytical problem-solving, time management and organizational skills
