Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Transportation EIT/Designer to contribute to detailed roadway design for urban and rural projects. You will collaborate with project engineers on alignment, hydraulics, grading, and plan production, building experience toward professional growth.

Preferred applicants hold an EIT and are proficient with MicroStation/AutoCAD and related highways software; local Montana candidates are favored. HDR offers comprehensive benefits and a strong employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field.
• EIT certificate preferred or willingness to obtain for career progression.
• Local candidates preferred.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD; familiarity with Highways/ Roads software like Bentley ConceptStation/Open Roads Designer and Autodesk Infraworks/Civil3D.

Responsibilities

• Work on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects.
• Take responsibility for alignment and profile, geometrics, hydraulics, stormwater, civil grading, development of plans and construction estimates.
• Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications and calculations.
• Proficient in grading and plan production workflows in Autodesk Civil3D.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Build your transportation engineering career by working on projects that shape how communities grow and move. As a Transportation EIT, you will contribute to roadway and site development projects with an emphasis on grading, roadway design, drainage, earthwork, and plan production. You will work closely with experienced engineers and designers, gaining meaningful project experience while developing the technical skills needed to grow into a well-rounded transportation engineer.

In the role of Transportation EIT/Designer, we'll count on you to:

• Work on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects
• Take responsibility for alignment and profile, geometrics, hydraulics, stormwater, civil grading, development of plans and construction estimates
• Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications and calculations
• Proficient in grading and plan production workflows in Autodesk Civil3d.
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
• Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Transportation Designer position and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
• Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, familiarity and demonstrated experience with Highways and Roads engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
• Local candidates preferred
