Job summary

Frederick Living in Zieglersville, PA is seeking a Transportation Driver to provide reliable transportation for residents using Frederick Living vehicles. You will ensure passenger safety, manage wheel chair lifts, and maintain vehicle cleanliness while supporting the community’s needs.

This role requires a High School diploma (or equivalent) and a PA driver’s license, with a safe driving history. Weekend and holiday shifts may be required; starting rate is $15.50 per hour, with company benefits

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent with a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s license.
• Prior experience and safe driving record preferred.
• Flexibility to assist in emergencies or on weekends/holidays if needed.

Responsibilities

• Drive Frederick Living vehicles to meet transportation needs of residents.
• Maintain safe driving record and ensure residents are comfortable and secured.
• Operate vehicle safety features and wheel chair lift; report defects to Transportation Manager.
• Respond to scheduling requests within 24–48 hours and know routes to designated sites.
• Keep vehicles clean and maintain required fuel levels; communicate incidents appropriately.

At Frederick Living the Transportation Driver is responsible for driving the Frederick Living vehicles as assigned to meet the transportation needs of the residents.

What You’ll Do

• Act consistently as a team player
• Practice safe driving skills at all times
• Maintain a safe driving record
• Insure residents are comfortable and safely secured
• Demonstrate knowledge of the mechanical wheel chair lift and vehicle safety features
• Maintain proper fuel levels in the vehicles and observe and report any mechanical or body defects on vehicles immediately to the Transportation Manager
• Respond to scheduling requests within 24 – 48 hours
• Know the bus route to and from the designated site
• Report any incidents concerning residents to Transportation Manager or other appropriate staff
• Keep vehicle clean
• Keep an operating cell phone available at all times during transport
• Abide by the organization’s code of conduct in the performance of their duties
• Perform other duties as required. Examples: on campus delivery of packages, and meals, data entry, on
• the job training of new drivers, fluid checks and cleaning of vehicles, other customer service activities Supports a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that promotes resident dignity and quality of life.
• Ability to hear, see, feel, smell and speak adequately to perform the essential functions of the job
• Ability to balance, climb, crawl, crouch, grasp, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, perform repetitive movements, stand and stoop to perform the essential functions of the job
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
• Ability to work in inside and outside environmental conditions

What We’re Looking For

• High School graduate or equivalent with a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s license. Prior experience and safe driving record required.
• Flexibility- may be asked to assist in emergencies
