Schedule: Full-Time 8:30am to 4:00pm
Pay: $17.50 – $21.00 per hour

Rehabilitation Center of Orlando is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and safety-focused Transportation Driver/CNA to join our team. The Transportation Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable transportation for residents to and from medical appointments and other approved destinations while ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity throughout the transportation process.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments and other approved destinations.
- Operate wheelchair-accessible vans and shuttle buses in accordance with all traffic laws and applicable regulations.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and safety checks before each trip.
- Ensure residents are properly secured using seat belts, wheelchair tie-downs, and other required safety equipment.
- Assist residents with entering and exiting vehicles, including safely operating wheelchair lifts and ramps.
- Communicate transportation schedules and appointment details with residents, nursing staff, and facility leadership.
- Assist residents in preparing for appointments, ensuring they have appropriate clothing, required paperwork, test results, medications, and personal belongings.
- Coordinate with nursing staff before and after appointments and provide updates and required medical documentation.
- Observe residents during transportation and promptly report any changes in condition or concerns to the nursing team.
- Assist residents with meals, hydration, and personal care while off-site when necessary and appropriate.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized transportation vehicle.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.
- Follow all infection control, safety, HIPAA, and resident rights policies and procedures.
- Provide respectful, person-centered service while protecting resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with a valid Florida CNA certification.
- Valid Florida driver's license with a satisfactory driving record; MVR check required.
- Previous passenger transportation experience preferred.
- Previous experience as a CNA in a nursing home, rehabilitation, assisted living, or long-term care setting preferred.
- Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to safely assist residents with mobility, transfers, wheelchair lifts, and wheelchair securement.
- Knowledge of basic resident care, safety, and infection control practices.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Dependable, patient, compassionate, and committed to resident safety.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with the nursing and facility teams.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed.
