Job description

Join to apply for the Transportation Driver role at PACE Southeast Michigan.

Under general supervision, the Transportation Driver performs activities related to transporting program participants and medical supplies to and from the program site and other facilities.

Responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining departmental policies and procedures, including quality assurance, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Transporting participants to and from the program site or other areas as directed.
  • Assisting participants with boarding, alighting, and using assistive devices safely.
  • Participating in scheduled training, in-services, and meetings.
  • Securing wheelchairs and safety belts properly.
  • Performing vehicle maintenance such as checking and refilling fluids, tire pressure, and cleaning/disinfecting buses.
  • Delivering medications and supplies daily, ensuring items are not lost or misplaced.
  • Handling post-death item collection responsibly.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Michigan CDL Class A or B with Passenger endorsement and a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Experience in transporting individuals with mobility needs.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Meet CMS competencies and be medically cleared for communicable diseases.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
  • Successful background check, health screening, drug test, TB, and MMR immunizations.
