Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a mid-level Transportation Drainage Engineer in Texas to support highway, bridge, and rail projects across Texas and beyond. You will contribute to planning, analysis, and design of transportation drainage systems while collaborating with roadway and bridge engineers.

As you progress, you will take on task management, mentoring of junior staff, and growing toward leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. ABET accredited school or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas required or ability to obtain in six months from hiring date if licensed in another state.
• 5+ years of experience on mid- or large-scale transportation projects providing drainage design, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses.
• Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate drainage design across all project phases with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Work with project engineers on detailed enclosed storm drainage analysis and design for urban and rural transportation projects.
• Conduct drainage analysis and design per project and agency requirements.
• Assist in preparing contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates.
• Prepare project-specific drainage/hydraulic reports and technical memoranda.
• Provide hydraulic impact analysis for cross drainage structures and integrate results with other disciplines.
• Assist with mentoring and technical development of junior engineers

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited)
