Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a Senior Transportation Drainage Engineer in San Antonio to lead drainage design and hydraulic analyses for transportation projects across Texas.

You’ll mentor junior staff, contribute to business development, and help grow the local drainage practice while leveraging client relationships. You will collaborate with project engineers and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring designs meet TxDOT and municipal criteria, and you’ll help enhance Jacobs’ regional

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from a US ABET-accredited institution or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer registration in Texas or ability to obtain within six months if licensed in another state.
• Eight or more years of experience delivering drainage design and hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for mid to large scale transportation projects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate drainage design across all project phases with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver enclosed storm drainage analysis and design for urban and rural transportation projects in collaboration with project engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Perform drainage analysis and design per project requirements and agency criteria (TxDOT, municipalities).
• Provide hydraulic analysis for cross drainage structures and integrate with roadway and bridge designs.
• Design and analyze stormwater quality facilities.
• Prepare drainage drawings, specifications, estimates, and quantities for contracts.
• Produce project-specific drainage and hydraulic reports and technical memorandums.
• Support business development by leveraging client relationships and growing the local Drainage team.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers as the practice grows.
