Job summary

West Virginia is seeking a Transportation District Human Resources Manager to oversee an organizational unit within a district of the Department of Transportation. The role includes budgeting, purchasing, personnel, and business operations, with responsibilities for directing staff and evaluating operations.

The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and five years of administrative or supervisory experience in HR, payroll, bookkeeping or accounting.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid administrative or supervisory experience in human resources, payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Manage an organizational unit within a district of the Department of Transportation, directing work and developing staff.
• Develop budget needs and oversee budgeting, purchasing, and business operations.
• Interpret statutes, regulations and policies to ensure compliance.
• Plan operations and procedures; evaluate unit performance and implement improvements.
• Research new procedures and improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide guidance and perform other related duties as required.
