R.H. Batterman & Co., Inc. is seeking a Transportation Design Project Manager to lead multi‑discipline transportation design projects with a focus on quality, client relationships, and on‑time delivery.

The role combines technical leadership with mentorship of engineers and collaboration across teams in Wisconsin. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in design project management, a PE license, and proficiency in CAD/BIM.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of design project management experience.
• Strong background in design project engineering.
• Proficiency with CAD/BIM software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) License.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple transportation design projects from concept through completion.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, team members, and partners.
• Communicate clearly and consistently across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Delegate tasks effectively and support team members with guidance and mentorship.
• Provide technical leadership and quality control throughout the design process.
• Lead project reviews and ensure compliance with standards, specifications, and expectations.
• Participate in the development of RFPs, RFQs, and project proposals.
• Resolve project-related challenges with professionalism and sound judgment.
• Apply practical engineering knowledge to produce safe, efficient, cost‑effective designs.
• Continue learning key elements of civil engineering design relevant to our projects
