Job summary

Fuss & O’Neill in New Haven, CT is seeking a Transportation Design Engineer – Project Manager to lead planning, design and delivery of complex roadway projects. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with clients and agencies, and manage projects from concept through construction.

The role requires a PE license, a civil engineering degree, and 10+ years of experience in transportation engineering.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
10+ years of transportation engineering experience.
Roadway/highway design experience required.
Proven ability to manage complex infrastructure projects end-to-end.
Experience with DOT agencies; Connecticut DOT experience preferred.
Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage multiple transportation design projects for municipal and state clients.
Oversee all phases from planning and design through construction.
Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and resources for project success.
Coordinate internal teams and staff allocation; support business development.
Provide technical expertise in roadway design and construction management.
