Job summary

Ashley Furniture Industries is seeking a Transportation Operations Coordinator to serve as the primary contact for drivers and customers, ensuring shipments move smoothly and issues are resolved quickly.

You will support scheduling, updates, and on-time pickup/delivery while building strong relationships with customers and carrier partners. This role offers growth in transportation and logistics within Ashley's team.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in customer service, transportation, logistics, dispatch, or related roles.
  • Passion for helping customers and resolving issues with a positive, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and business systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary contact for drivers and customers, responding to questions, concerns, and service requests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Build positive relationships with customers and carrier partners while delivering a high level of service.
  • Monitor shipment activity and provide updates to customers, drivers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with scheduling, appointment coordination, and daily transportation activities to support on-time pickup and delivery performance.
  • Investigate and resolve shipment, delivery, and driver-related issues with urgency and professionalism.
  • Maintain regular communication with drivers, customers, and internal business partners regarding shipment status and operational changes.
  • Enter and update shipment information, customer interactions, and operational details within company systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to a team-focused environment that values collaboration, accountability, and service excellence.

As a Transportation Operations Coordinator, you'll serve as a key point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure shipments move smoothly and service issues are resolved quickly. Responsibilities
Provide Exceptional Customer Service
  • Serve as a primary contact for drivers and customers, responding to questions, concerns, and service requests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Build positive relationships with customers and carrier partners while delivering a high level of service.
Support Transportation Operations
  • Monitor shipment activity and provide updates to customers, drivers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with scheduling, appointment coordination, and daily transportation activities to support on-time pickup and delivery performance.
Resolve Issues Proactively
  • Investigate and resolve shipment, delivery, and driver-related issues with urgency and professionalism.
  • Work collaboratively with operations teams to identify solutions and minimize service disruptions.
Communicate Effectively
  • Maintain regular communication with drivers, customers, and internal business partners regarding shipment status and operational changes.
  • Escalate critical issues when necessary and follow through to completion.
Maintain Accurate Records
  • Enter and update shipment information, customer interactions, and operational details within company systems.
  • Ensure data accuracy and timely documentation of transportation activities.
Support Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to a team-focused environment that values collaboration, accountability, and service excellence.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting transportation, logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) or dispatching software
  • Experience working directly with drivers, carriers, or customers in an operations environment
