Pay: $40,000-$50,000 per year plus commission

The Transportation Coordinator (TC) plays a crucial role in managing freight shipments and accounts, delivering cost-effective solutions prioritizing customer interests. The TC should work well independently and in teams, solicit carriers and customers, establish relationships, and provide quality service while fostering a positive team culture.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

1. Broker transportation shipments and secure carrier capacity
2. Trace & trace customer shipments
3. Provide customer support and address issues
4. Conduct spot pricing, negotiate rates, and ensure profitability
5. Meet customer compliance requirements
6. Book loads with Registry Monitoring Insurance Service carriers
7. Engage in customer and carrier communication to foster growth
8. Develop and manage a network of reliable carriers
9. Assist with financial procedures and operating metrics
10. Achieve financial objectives and margin/revenue goals

Qualifications, skills & abilities:

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
• Experience in transportation or supply chain preferred
• Strong organization, communication, conflict resolution, and time management skills
• Basic computer skills: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Data Entry
• Positive influence and teamwork skills
• Professional phone and email communication
• Customer service skills for internal and external clients
• Ability to produce reports, business correspondence, and presentations
• Ability to interpret instructions in various formats
• RMIS and TMS skills are recommended

Work environment:

Primarily in a standard office setting with frequent team and supplier contact, with possible interruptions.
