Position Summary

The Transportation Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the transportation department.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement transportation schedules for daily routes, auxiliary routes, and special education transportation.
2. Implement and monitor bus safety and parent notification technology systems.
3. Schedule transportation requests for athletics and activities.
4. Oversee fleet maintenance and service.
5. Maintain transportation records complying with regulations.
6. Perform bus driver responsibilities as needed.
7. Participate in recruitment, hiring, and training of drivers and monitors.
8. Assist in developing the transportation budget.
9. Supervise training programs and safety curricula.
10. Collaborate on bus safety and student discipline programs.
11. Advise on inclement weather schedules.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Knowledge of CDOT, DOT, and related regulations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Understanding of vehicle maintenance and fleet management.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Criminal background check.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license.
• DOT physical and driving record clearance.
• Commercial driver’s license (Class B, P2S endorsement).
• CPR and First Aid certifications (within 60 days).
• Must be 21 years or older.

Preferred Qualifications

• Postsecondary coursework in related fields.
• 5+ years as a school bus driver.

Physical & Mental Requirements

Ability to sit for long periods, lift 50 lbs., and perform physical activities as described.
