The YMCA of Greater Erie is seeking a dedicated Transportation Coordinator to lead our transportation services across all locations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for scheduling, compliance, and training of CDL and non-CDL drivers in accordance with Pennsylvania laws and YMCA standards. This position pays up to $20.00- $25.00/hour depending on experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR
In this role, you will coordinate routes and coverage across multiple YMCA sites, ensuring all transportation runs are on time and within budget. You will train, coach, and perform spot checks on both CDL and non-CDL drivers to uphold safety standards, effective rider management, and proper vehicle care. When needed, you'll step in to drive, ensuring service continuity. Daily responsibilities also include conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintaining accurate records for routes, mileage, and maintenance. Throughout all interactions, you are expected to model the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A TRANSPORATION COORDINATOR
21 + years old and HS diploma/GED.
Valid PA CDL with S & P endorsements; clean driving record; able to pass annual DOT physical.
All PA DHS clearances (PA Child Abuse, State Police, FBI fingerprint, NSOR).
Pre-employment, random, and post-accident drug testing compliance.
Working knowledge of Erie city/county roads, basic GPS & computer skills.
CPR/First Aid (or obtain within 30 days).
Calm, patient demeanor and strong organizational skills.

WORK SCHEDULE
This typical schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

A medical examination, including drug testing, may be required after an offer of employment has been made. Evidence from a physician that a potential employee can physically perform the specified job requirements may be required. Act 33 and 34 Clearances are required. In some cases, an FBI clearance may be required. An employee is not permitted to begin work until he/she has mailed his/her clearance requests, and signed the Employee Disclosure Statement.In addition, persons hired to work directly in the licensed child care operations or one of its subsidiary programs, must have acceptable Act 151 clearances, Mantoux tine test, National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR) clearance and other requirements as dictated by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL).
