Job summary

Guidehouse supports the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) to execute its mission, and we seek a strategy and organizational consultant to help clients tackle challenges and work with government leaders. You will engage in policy implementation and operations standardization, collaborating with clients to deliver effective solutions.

The role requires strong critical thinking, clear communication, and the ability to manage client relationships in team-based settings, with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
• 1+ year of management consulting experience, preferably within the public sector.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal or DoD public trust.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in client service and team-based environments with unstructured problems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Participate in information gathering sessions with clients regarding organizational structure, process, technology, and culture.
• Develop work products that synthesize information into recommendations for client improvements.
• Present work products to clients and facilitate discussions in meetings.
• Collaborate with a team to develop solutions for government clients interfacing with the transit industry.
• Develop detailed project schedules to monitor performance.
• Identify and manage project risks and issues.
• Develop detailed status reports for individual programs.
• Work with stakeholders to keep projects on-time and within budget.

What You Will Do

We are searching for a strategy and organizational consultant to help clients execute against their mission effectively and efficiently and work collaboratively with our clients to help them work through their most pressing challenges. From implementing new policies to standardizing operations across offices, we work side‑by‑side with government leaders to solve important problems.

We are seeking a management consultant with strong critical thinking skills, clear communication skills, and a desire to manage clients.

Responsibilities

• Participate in information gathering session with clients regarding organizational structure, process, technology, and culture

What You Will Need

• Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust; Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
• One (1+) plus years of management consulting experience, preferably within the public sector
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to thrive in client service and team‑based environments, especially when tackling unstructured problems
• Strong attention to detail, well organized and ability to self‑prioritize multiple activities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Ability to work in a Guidehouse Office or Client Office location
• Ability to travel

What Would Be Nice To Have

• Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust
• PMP or other project or program management certification
• Experience working with Federal, state, or local transportation organizations
• Experience working with the Federal government
