Job summary

Consertus is seeking an experienced Construction Manager / Resident Engineer to support Caltrans projects in Ventura County. You will provide construction management, field inspection, contract administration, and technical oversight to ensure work meets Caltrans plans and standards.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and at least 3 years Caltrans-related experience; a California PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years Caltrans-related construction experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of roadway construction practices, specs, and procedures.
• Experience with Caltrans projects and contract administration.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction management and field oversight for Caltrans transportation projects.
• Perform and/or oversee daily construction inspection and documentation.
• Interpret and enforce Caltrans standards, provisions, and plans.
• Monitor contractor activities, progress, quality, schedule, and compliance.
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, time impacts, and project docs.
• Coordinate with Caltrans, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve construction issues with technical recommendations.
• Support meetings, progress reporting, and contract administration.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and traffic-control requirements.
