Job summary

PMCS Group, Inc. is seeking a California-registered Civil Engineer to serve as Consultant Resident Engineer on Caltrans District 7 highway construction projects in the Los Angeles/Ventura area.

You will administer the construction contract, lead a team of inspectors, testers, and office staff, and manage contract administration, safety, schedule, and environmental compliance. Responsibilities include overseeing traffic control, reviewing CPM schedules, preparing progress reports, managing costs

Qualifications

• CA-registered Civil Engineer in good standing.
• Minimum six (6) years leading roadway/highway construction management.
• Experience administering construction contracts as a Resident Engineer.
• Working knowledge of Caltrans Standard Specifications, Construction Manual, and CEM documentation.
• Familiarity with California prevailing wage requirements and DBE/DVBE monitoring.
• Experience reviewing CPM schedules and maintaining organized project files.
• Knowledge of safety requirements for hazardous environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer roadway construction contracts day to day, interpreting specs and documenting contractor work.
• Lead inspectors, materials testers, and office personnel; set priorities and brief weekly.
• Oversee traffic control plan and project safety, monitor safety programs, and suspend operations if hazards exist.
• Review CPM schedule, provide time impact analyses, and prepare daily/weekly reports.
• Track expenditures, forecast costs, and administer change orders.
• Coordinate environmental commitments and EEO/DBE requirements at the project level.
• Deliver as-built plans within 30 days of final acceptance.
