Job Description

RIG Consulting Inc. is currently seeking qualified Transportation Construction Inspectors (TCI) for Highway and Bridge projects in District 4 in Pike, Luzerne, & Lackawanna Counties in Pennsylvania.

Hourly rate starting at approximately $20-35/hr., depending on qualifications, education, and certifications. RIG offers additional benefits such as Night Shift Incentive and Long-Distance Drive Incentive, which can increase your earnings.

Primary Responsibilities include:

• Performing routine inspections to ensure proper materials and construction processes are used
• Reviewing inspection drawings
• Documenting daily activities
• Maintaining project documents and files

Essential Functions:

• Traveling across various terrains
• Reading, writing, and speaking English clearly
• Using electronic devices and software for data input and retrieval
• Safely maneuvering around traffic and equipment
• Reacting promptly to hazard warning devices
• Using and maintaining required protective equipment
• Performing physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, crawling, twisting, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Enduring periods of heavy exertion
• Traveling to inspection sites
• Exposing to noise, outdoor weather, plants, insects, and chemicals within SDS limits
• Working extended hours and being on call as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum of two years’ experience related to PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, or similar transportation construction or paving
• TCI-2 certification or higher
• Previous P3 experience
• GED or high school diploma; degree in Civil Engineering preferred

Certifications:

• NECEPT bituminous and concrete
• ACI
• NICET Level 2 or higher in Highway Construction
• CDS NextGen
• KAHUA
