Job description

Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) - District 5

RIG Consulting Inc. is currently seeking qualified Transportation Construction Inspectors (TCI) in the District 5 area (Schuylkill, Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, and Northampton).

The base rate may range from $20.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, education, and certifications. RIG offers additional benefits such as a Night Safety Incentive and a Long Distance Drive Incentive, which can add extra pay to your paycheck!

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform daily inspections to ensure proper materials and construction processes are used
• Review inspection drawings
• Document daily activities
• Maintain project documents and files

Essential Functions:

• Travel across various terrains
• Read, write, and speak English clearly
• Use electronic devices and software systems to input and retrieve information
• Operate safely around moving traffic and equipment
• React promptly to hazard warning devices such as signs, sirens, and alarms
• Use required protective equipment responsibly, including care, storage, and maintenance
• Perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, crawling, twisting, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Work in conditions of heavy exertion and exposure to outdoor elements, noise, chemicals, plants, and insects within SDS limits
• Travel to inspection sites and work extended hours or be on call beyond normal hours as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum of two years of PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, or related transportation construction experience
• GED or high school diploma required
• Degree in Civil Engineering preferred

Preferred Certifications:

• NECEPT bituminous and concrete
• ACI
• NICET Level 2 or higher in Highway Construction
• CDS NextGen
• KAHUA
