Job Description

Michael Baker International is seeking Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisors (TCIS) to join our team in Butler! Under the supervision of the Project Supervisor, the Construction Inspection Supervisor will monitor and document that the roadway and/or bridge project is being built according to plans and specifications. Responsibilities include:

• Inspect various facets of work on the transportation construction project site
• Communicate with the client
• Coordinate staff assignments
• Take field measurements and perform calculations
• Prepare and review inspection reports
• Verify that appropriate materials and construction processes are being used
• Ensure construction conforms to plans, specifications, and special provisions
• Perform other duties as assigned

Professional Requirements

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience in transportation construction (PennDOT or PTC preferred)
• Certifications such as ACI Field Technician, PennDOT Concrete Technician, NECEPT Field Technician, NICET Highway Construction, ECMS Wave 5, Materials Testing, Bridge Inspection, Troxler Nuclear Gauge are preferred but not required
• Proficient with iPad for PennDOT’s ECMS and CDS/NeXtGen systems
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills
• Basic math skills for measurements
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
• Availability for various shifts, including night shifts, with possible overtime
• Potential overnight travel and seasonal layoffs
• Physical ability to work in adverse weather, walking on rough terrain, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds

Compensation

The approximate range is $34.60/hr to $36.21/hr, depending on experience and certifications. Actual pay depends on education, qualifications, experience, skills, and location.
