The Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor role places you at the center of important highway and bridge projects within the Department of Transportation. You will guide inspectors, support construction progress, and help keep projects running with accuracy and teamwork. Your leadership strengthens safety and quality across every assignment. This position supervises inspectors, project documentation, and material reviews to ensure construction work follows approved plans, standards, and requirements. As a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

• Inspection Oversight: Supervise field and materials inspections to verify compliance with construction specifications and quality standards
• Work Order Review: Examine documentation and project records to ensure procedures and policies are followed
• Technical Systems Use: Utilize department platforms and mobile applications to manage project data, approvals and reports
• Material Verification: Check construction materials for certification, correct placement, and required testing
• Coordination Support: Work with contractors, municipalities, and utilities to resolve project issues and maintain progress
• Staff Leadership: Coach, mentor and evaluate inspectors to support skill development and strong performance

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Condition of Employment

• This position requires possession of a valid non- commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License or equivalent.
