Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc is seeking a Construction Inspector to join the Transportation Group in Lexington, SC. The role involves inspecting transportation construction projects, performing measurements and sampling, and documenting findings in reports.

The ideal candidate will have relevant certifications and typically a degree in construction management or equivalent experience. The position offers flexible hours and occasional overnight travel within a dynamic, employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will have at least two applicable certifications, and one of the following:
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field OR
• Associate's Degree in Construction Management or related field with two years' experience OR
• If no degree, at least four years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Inspect Transportation Construction Projects to ensure work/materials meet plans/proposals/specifications
• Perform Key Measurements & Calculations to verify weights/volumes
• Conduct Materials Testing & Sampling to ensure quality throughout the project
• Daily Documentation of inspection activities in detailed reports
• Work Outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Physical responsibilities including heavy lifting and manual tasks
• Independent Work with minimal supervision
• Flexible Hours & Travel with occasional overnight stays
