We seek a Construction Inspector to perform field inspections, review plans, and support quality assurance on highway and civil projects in Pennsylvania.

The role requires a high school diploma or higher with 1–4 years of inspection experience; preferred degrees in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; may be substituted for experience.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• Active driver’s license required; Motor Vehicle screening must be passed.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Performs routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
• Gathers and maintains record documents.
• Makes field notes and computations.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

Required Skills

Preferred Skills

• Client Requested certifications, including: NICET Level 1 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
• NECEPT-Bituminous and Concrete Field Technician
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician
• CDS NeXtGen and/or ECMS Wave 5

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience)
• 1-4 years of Construction Inspection Experience

Preferred Experience

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Previous PennDOT and or PA Turnpike Inspection Experience

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
