Job description

A. Morton Thomas & Associates, Inc. (AMT, Inc.) is hiring Construction Inspectors in the Transportation sector to support projects throughout the VDOT Fredericksburg District and surrounding areas of Northern Neck and Saluda Residencies. Interested applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, be available for night work, OT and/or weekends as needed, capable of working independently and within a team, and be subject to a background check. Preferred candidates will have experience with paving, roadway, and bridge construction inspection and records keeping.

Responsibilities

1. Verification that all work performed complies with plans & contractual specifications.
2. Measurement & verification of quantities, dimensions & specifications.
3. Act as a liaison between VDOT and the prime contractor.

Qualifications

1. 3+ years of transportation construction experience, ideally within the State of Virginia.
2. Required certifications are preferred; class enrollment for certifications will be arranged for candidates with applicable construction inspection experience.
