Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector to join our Construction Services team for on-site work in Delaware. This full-time role focuses on ensuring highway construction meets plans, specifications and safety requirements.

You will inspect materials, read plans, perform tests, document quantities, and support verification activities with a commitment to accuracy and reliability. A high school diploma and civil engineering education are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation construction including paving, surveying, traffic signals, flagger/traffic control, and road or bridge construction and maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Education/training in civil engineering, construction technology or related field preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, comprehend and speak English fluently.
• Must be proficient in DelDOT Standard Specifications and Standard Details.
• Attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential requirements.
• Familiarity with PC-based computer systems and/or tablet systems.
• Frequently reports to project/client sites to complete tasks or attend meetings.
• Valid driver’s license with own transportation
• Ability to pass a fingerprint/background check
• Ability to conduct themselves safely in harsh outdoor conditions, including heights and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

Kleinfelder is currently seeking motivated candidates to fill our immediate full-timeTransportation Construction Inspectorrole. Work assignments are expected to be in Delaware.

• Ability to conduct themselves safely as we work in potentially harsh outside environmental conditions, such as environmental hazards and highway construction sites including heights, heavy equipment and highway traffic.


• Position requires the ability to stand and walk on uneven surfaces for long periods of time and be able to lift up to 40 pounds


• Salary will be commensurate with experience
