Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspection Supervisor in Clarion, PA, to staff PennDOT and other client projects. Responsibilities include reviewing plans, performing material tests, and coordinating inspection activities in the field.

Qualified candidates provide 4+ years of inspection experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and client-required certifications. This is a full-time on-site role with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance with laws and safety regulations.
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
• Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance with plans, contract documents, specifications and standards.
• Assign, schedule and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all phases of the project.
• Draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction related field issues on behalf of the client.
• Gather and maintain record documents.
• Make field notes and computations.
• Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other parties to respond to inquiries.

JMT's Pittsburgh Construction Management Team is seeking Inspector Supervisors to staff existing PennDOT assignments and other client projects.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials

Required Skills

• Strong computer proficiency
• Active driver's license and reliable motor vehicle – Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience)
• 4+ years of Construction Inspection Experience
• Client requested certifications

Preferred Experience

• Associates or bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
• Supervisory experience in construction management/inspection situations
• Ability to act in an Owner's Agent/Responsible in Charge role

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
