Job summary

GeoWorld is seeking a mid-level Civil Engineer (Transportation) for our Buffalo, NY headquarters. You will serve as a Project Engineer on complex public works projects, developing designs for highways, bridges, stormwater, and water systems while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET) with up to 6 years of experience and a PE license in NY or NJ is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
0–6 years of experience in civil-infrastructure design.
Professional Engineer registration in NY or NJ is a plus.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with AASHTO, AISC, PCA, NYSDOT.
Strong verbal and written communication, able to work independently and in a team.
Organized and detail-oriented with ability to deliver on schedule.

Responsibilities

Serve as a Project Engineer on complex, multi-discipline public works projects.
Develop detailed designs for highways, bridges, stormwater and sanitary sewer systems, and water distribution systems.
Prepare and deliver contract plans, specifications, and bid estimates on-time and within budget.
Ensure project compliance with design codes, standards (AASHTO, AISC, PCA, NYSDOT), and quality assurance protocols.
Conduct and participate in client and stakeholder meetings.
Perform site inspections to ensure project quality and accuracy.
