The City of Eugene is seeking a Civil Engineer 2 to lead design-focused public works projects in the Engineering division. The role involves design, project management, and coordination with City staff and external partners to deliver infrastructure improvements.

Five years of experience with at least one year in supervision are required, along with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. On-site work is primary during probation, with ADA and diversity commitments emphasized.

Qualifications

• Five years of professional civil engineering experience including one year of supervisory experience.
• Bachelor's degree from ABET accredited college or university, with major course work in Civil Engineering, or related field(s).
• Must pass a background check.

Responsabilités

• Design and prepare plans, specifications, schedules and cost estimates for public works projects (streets, bike paths, traffic signals, bridges, illumination, etc.).
• Direct professional and technical staff in survey, design, construction inspection, and contract management of capital projects.
• Act as lead representative for public works projects to City departments, consultants, developers, and the public.
• Manage Federally funded projects often as part of the City's certification with ODOT.
• Provide technical and professional engineering support services relative to assigned areas of responsibility.
• Mentor, coach, and evaluate assigned staff; ensure training.
