Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer II to join our Transportation team in Murray, Utah. You will support planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects across Utah and the Mountain West, collaborating with experienced engineers and PMs.

Responsibilities include roadway design, preparation of plans and specifications, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. The role offers growth in ORD usage, exposure to UDOT standards, and a path toward PE/EIT certification.

Qualifications

• BA/BS plus 2 years experience or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience preferred
• EIT certification or FE exam completed
• Experience with transportation, roadway, highway, or municipal infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with ORD and applicable design standards such as AASHTO/MUTCD

Responsibilities

• Perform civil engineering design and analysis for transportation projects, including roadway alignments, grading, drainage, utilities, and related infrastructure
• Develop engineering plans, specifications, technical reports, calculations, cost estimates, and other deliverables
• Assist with roadway and highway design for UDOT and local agency projects
• Prepare and review design plans using Bentley Open Roads Designer (ORD) and other software
• Assist with development of plan sets, quantities, specifications, and construction documents
• Support senior engineers and project managers with coordination, analyses, field investigations, and construction support
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including traffic, planning, structures, drainage, geotechnical, environmental, and survey
• Participate in meetings with clients, agencies, contractors, and stakeholders
• Assist with field visits, site assessments, observations, and resolution of design issues
• Apply AASHTO, UDOT, MUTCD, and other design standards
• Contribute to projects improving mobility, safety, and connectivity in Wasatch Front
