Job summary

Shive-Hattery, a full-service architecture and engineering firm, seeks a Civil Engineer Intern to contribute to Public Infrastructure- Transportation projects. You’ll design roadways, trails, and site plans, prepare CAD drawings, and assist in construction administration.

Ideal for recent grads with FE/EI progress, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a hybrid office setting. Growth and licensure support are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university.
• 0–3 years of experience; recent graduate or Engineer Intern.
• FE exam passed with EI; pursuing PE license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Willing to work overtime and travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare CAD drawings, reports, construction cost opinions, and technical specifications.
• Contribute to design of roadway, trail, parking, site grading, and storm water management.
• Assist in construction phasing, traffic control, and other site design components.
• Support on-site construction administration and observation for contractor compliance.
