Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Civil Designer to join our transportation team in New York, working under a Senior Engineer to develop roadway, drainage, and land development designs. You will prepare drawings, reports, and contract documents while collaborating with clients and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes fieldwork, scheduling discipline, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation; prior internship experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with roadways, drainage, grading and land development designs.
• Prepare drawings and reports; perform basic calculations.
• Create construction documents and change orders.
• Attend client/contractor meetings to understand goals.
• Perform field work as directed.
• Monitor progress to keep schedule.
• Use software to prepare drawings and exhibits.
• Assist with engineering duties on varied projects.
