Job summary

The Juvenile Transportation/Case Aide role at The Village provides scheduled transportation for clients to and from the program, with a focus on safety and reliability. You will travel with youth, engage with clients during trips, and maintain accurate mileage logs and documentation.

  • Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years driving experience.
  • No more than one moving violation or accident in the past 3 years.
  • No DWI or DUI convictions.
  • 1–2 years’ experience transporting children or youth.
  • Evenings and some weekends required.
  • Must be culturally competent to serve diverse client population.

Responsibilities

  • Provides transportation to clients from program as per schedule.
  • Engages clients while transporting.
  • Maintains mileage log and all other required documentation.
  • Reports vehicle problems to Property Management.
  • Assists in weekly vehicle inspection and completion of forms.
  • Reports any difficulties with clients while transporting to supervisor.
  • Observes all traffic laws, safety regulations and procedures.
  • Promotes a safe, welcoming environment with risk reduction and positive behavior change.

QPC:

The Quality Parenting Center (QPC) is a program that provides parentsand their children with a comfortable and homelike setting wherefamilies can safely spend time together and create positive memories.The Visiting Coach model empowers parents through visit planning, andassists them with identifying and responding to their children’sneeds. Visits can be scheduled 365 days a year, evenings and weekendsincluded in order to best meet the needs of the families. QPC istasked with facilitating transportation for parents and children. TheTCA position requires a great deal of time transporting children inagency and personal vehicles. In order to safely facilitate thetransports, staff must be able to carry and install car seats inagency mini-vans which requires being able to climb in and out of theback seats.

JOB SUMMARY

The Juvenile Transportation/Case Aide is responsible for providingtransportation to clients to and from program as scheduled. Primarilytravel based or picking up multiple clients within a commondestination. The Juvenile Transportation/Case Aide provides feedbackto supervisor(s) and staff regarding any problems or difficultiesrelating to client transports.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides transportation to clients from program as per schedule.
  • Engages clients while transporting.
  • Attends trainings and meetings, as needed, to meet therequirements of the position.
  • Maintains mileage log and all other required documentation.
  • Reports vehicle problems to Property Management.
  • Assists in weekly vehicle inspection and completion of forms.
  • Reports any difficulties with clients while transporting to supervisor.
  • Observes all traffic laws, safety regulations and safetyprocedures, i.e., safety belt use.
  • Supervises behavior of clients while in the agency vehicle andimmediately reports any incidents or disclosures.
  • Engages in strength-based, culturally competent, trauma-informedand gender responsive interactions with clients/families.
  • Upholds all program expectations.
  • Promotes a safe, welcoming environment with a focus on riskreduction and positive behavior change.
  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness within the vehicle.
Experience and Skills

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates in HumanServices or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
  • Minimum of 3 years driving experience.
  • No more than one moving violation or accident within the pastthree years.
  • No DWI or DUI convictions.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in transporting children or youth.
  • Must be punctual and flexible with scheduling. Evenings and someweekends required.
  • Some knowledge of Juvenile Justice System or Child ProtectiveServices per applicable program.
  • Must be culturally competent to serve diverse client population.
  • Ability to work in team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to carry out basic clerical duties.
  • Physically able to perform the essential functions of theposition, with or without reasonable accommodations.
