Job summary

Prince William County Government seeks a Capital Procurement Officer to lead procurement of architectural/engineering design and construction services for Transportation CIP projects. You will oversee high-profile solicitations, advise on VPPA compliance, and manage contract awards, performance, and closeout across multiple departments.

The role requires strong negotiation, vendor management, and project coordination skills, with telework-eligible hybrid work arrangements and on-site needs based

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 7+ years in procurement, contracting, or contract administration.
• Experience in local government, higher education, transportation, or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of VPPA and public sector procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement for architectural/engineering design and construction services on Transportation CIP projects.
• Advise county departments on compliant procurement practices under local/state laws.
• Manage solicitations, evaluations, and contract awards to support the County’s mission.
• Resolve vendor performance issues and identify process improvements for efficiency.
• Support complex, high-value, multi-phase capital projects from solicitation to closeout.
