Job summary

CME Associates in Huntsville, AL seeks a strategic, relationship-driven leader to expand our presence in the North Alabama market, focusing on roadway and transportation infrastructure projects. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of civil engineering experience focused on transportation/roadway infrastructure.
  • Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
  • Established Huntsville/North Alabama engineering market network.
  • Knowledge of RFQs/RFPs and public-sector procurement processes.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact for business development in Huntsville and North Alabama.
  • Lead growth initiatives focused on roadway, transportation, and public infrastructure projects.
  • Identify and secure new project opportunities through client relationships.
  • Develop connections with ALDOT, municipalities, contractors and partners.
  • Track RFQs/RFPs and market trends to position the firm competitively.
  • Lead go/no-go decisions, proposal strategy, and interview preparation.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop scopes of work, staffing plans, and fee proposals.
  • Support project kickoff and transition to delivery teams, ensuring client expectations alignment.
  • Maintain and grow key client relationships through regular communication and engagement.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and local networking functions.
  • Partner with internal leadership to align business development goals with company strategy.
  • Assist in hiring and building a local team to support growth in the Huntsville region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business development efforts in the Huntsville and North Alabama market

  • Develop and maintain strong connections with local municipalities, Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), contractors, and industry partners
  • Track upcoming projects, RFQs/RFPs, and market trends to position the firm competitively
  • Lead go/no-go decisions, proposal strategy, and interview preparation
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop scopes of work, staffing plans, and fee proposals
  • Support project kickoff and transition to delivery teams, ensuring alignment with client expectations

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong emphasis on transportation/roadway infrastructure
  • Proven track record in business development, client relationship management, and project capture
  • Established network of contacts in the Huntsville/North Alabama engineering and infrastructure market
  • Strong understanding of public-sector procurement processes, including RFQs/RFPs
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to identify opportunities and convert leads into awarded projects
  • Self-motivated, strategic thinker with strong organizational and leadership abilities
  • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Ability to travel locally for client meetings, site visits, and industry events
