Job summary

New Prague Area Schools is seeking a part-time Bus Driver to operate a school bus for AM and PM routes. This role involves transporting students and authorized personnel safely, performing pre-trip inspections, and enforcing student discipline on the bus.

Approximately 6.25 hours per day on student contact days. Requires a Minnesota Class D license, ability to obtain a CDL with school bus endorsement, and successful completion of driver training. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Minnesota driver’s license (Class D) with insurability.
• Ability to obtain CDL with school bus and passenger endorsement.
• Ability to pass a federally mandated drug/alcohol screen.
• Successful completion of school driver training programs established by state/district.

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus and transport students safely on assigned routes.

Job Description

This position is for an am and pm to/from school bus route.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for operating a school bus and transporting school-aged children and other authorized personnel safely and efficiently over specified routes to and from schools and various activities. Conducts pre-trip inspections; observes safety regulations and policies; enforces student discipline on the bus.

WORK REQUIREMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS:

Education/Certification/Licensure:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Minnesota driver’s license (Class D) and acceptable driving record for insurability by the District’s insurance carrier, and to meet state requirements
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers License with a school bus and passenger endorsement
• Ability to pass a federally mandated drug/alcohol screen
• Successful completion of the school driver training programs and courses established by the state and/or school district

Applicant must have a good driving record, be able to pass a drug and alcohol test, and pass a background check. Applicant must also be dependable with a good work ethic. Training will be provided to acquire a school bus drivers license.
