West Virginia is seeking a Transportation Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker 1 who will report to the District Maintenance Office in Mercer County. The role involves skilled and semi-skilled work in building trades for maintenance and repair of highways' facilities, buildings and grounds, with limited supervision.
Candidates should have two years of relevant experience; no formal education required. Travel may be required and a valid driver's license is required.

The Transportation Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker 1 will report to the District Maintenance Office in Mercer County. This position performs a variety of skilled and semi skilled work under limited direction in the building trades in connection with the maintenance and repair of Highways’ facilities, buildings and grounds. Work assignments usually require skill in and knowledge of maintenance and repair methods and practices in several building maintenance trades. May also required, with proper training to work in asbestos or other environmental issues. Performs related work as required.
**Preference may be given to Candidates with these qualifications**
No formal education required.
Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in building maintenance, building construction, the installation and maintenance of building electrical or heating systems, or related highway experience.
Substitution: Successful completion of vocational school training may substitute for the required experience through an established formula.
Travel may be required; therefore, a valid driver’s license is required.
