Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is hiring a Transportation Analyst I to support day-to-day operations of the transportation network in Milwaukee. You will coordinate shipments, monitor performance, resolve service issues, process freight claims, and assist with payment exceptions using Excel, Power BI, AI tools, and PowerPoint.

Collaborate across Supply Planning, Sourcing, Service, Manufacturing, Sales, and Distribution to optimize costs and service.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent education and experience considered.
Ability to extract, organize, manipulate, and interpret transportation and operational data.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; translate findings into practical recommendations.
Effective written and verbal communication with carriers, suppliers, customers, and internal partners.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation activities (scheduling, routing, booking, tracking, expediting, follow-up).
Partner with Supply Planning, Sourcing, Service, Manufacturing, Sales, Merchandising, Distribution, suppliers and carriers to meet requirements.
Monitor daily shipment activity; resolve lost, misrouted, delayed, or damaged freight with carriers and stakeholders.
Provide freight quotes and secure carrier capacity for expedited shipments.
Evaluate expedited requests; propose cost-effective options and escalate excess costs for approval.
Develop routing guides, supplier requirements, and transportation compliance standards.
Analyze freight data to identify noncompliance, gaps, and cost drivers; drive improvements.
Track carrier performance; communicate results and address recurring issues.
Manage freight claims, documentation, follow-ups, and recovery tracking.
Research and resolve transportation-related customer issues with carriers and network.
Support freight payment exception resolution and ensure charges are documented.
Lead or support data-driven cost mitigation and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Provide coverage for Transportation Manager as needed.
