Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking a TRANSPORTATION AIDE for Bus #5 in the evening, reporting to the Director of Transportation. The role supports students during loading and unloading and on the bus.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, state Aide exam or prior Aide classification, fluent English, ability to lift 50 lbs, and required training in first aid/CPR and bus safety.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Must have or previously held Aide classification or pass state competency exam for Aide.
  • Fluent in oral and written English.
  • Ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Physically able to perform activities required with students.
  • First aid/CPR and bus training; health procedures training as needed for assigned students.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students in getting on and off the bus and help with fastening seat belts or restraining devices.
  • Supervise individual students or small groups of children while on the bus.
  • Assist with bus lift equipment.
  • Assist with record keeping and clean up tasks.
  • Perform physical activities with students as required per IEP/504/health care/SAT plans.
  • Maintain positive work habits.
  • Participate in-service and/or other related training programs to maintain or upgrade skills.

Position: TRANSPORTATION AIDE (Bus #5 Evening)

Supervisor: Director of Transportation

Qualifications

High school diploma;

Currently hold or previously held classification of Aide, or passage of state competency exam for Aide

ability to use oral and written English fluently;

ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions;

ability to perform the physical activity required with specialized program;

relevant first aid/CPR and bus training; relevant bus and specialized health procedures training as needed for assigned students.

Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist students in getting on and off the bus and assist students with fastening of seat belts or restraining devices.

Participate in-service and/or other related training programs to maintain or upgrade skills.

Follows County Employee Code of Conduct.

Evaluations: Evaluations will be performed by the Director of Transportation.
