About the Role

Our client, a significant player in the regional logistics sector, is seeking a results-oriented Transport Manager to lead their transportation operations based in Upington, Northern Cape. This role is critical for ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of goods across the region and beyond. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of transportation management, route planning, fleet compliance, and driver supervision. You will be responsible for optimizing transport schedules, managing carrier relationships, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the company's transportation operations, including planning, scheduling, and execution.

• Investigate and resolve transportation-related issues and customer complaints.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for transportation activities.
• Analyze transportation data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost-saving measures.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in transport management or a senior logistics role with a strong focus on transportation.
• Proven experience in managing regional or national transport operations.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation modes, logistics, and supply chain principles.
• Familiarity with transport regulations, road safety, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and fleet management software.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and control transportation costs effectively.
• Experience working within the Upington, Northern Cape region is highly desirable.
