Job summary

Arcwood Environmental, LLC is seeking a Transport Laborer to support our landfill operations. You will assist Arcwood Transport and contracted drivers with offloading containers and dump trucks, while adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include removing tarps and bows, inspecting containers, cleaning spills, hooking/unhooking trailers, and maintaining container integrity. A high-school diploma is required; 1+ year of experience is preferred, with safety as a core value.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of related experience preferred; training provided.
• Able to perform physical tasks and operate unloading equipment.

Responsibilities

• Offload containers and dump trucks at the landfill.
• Remove tarps and bows from trucks and containers; complete lining and maintenance.
• Remove residual waste; clean/wash and inspect containers before departure.
• Remove placards and labels using scrapers after dumping.
• Clean spills in the unloading area and inspect container integrity.
• Hook and unhook trailers while equipment moves into position.

Job description

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Transport Laborer As a Transport Laborer you will provide assistance and support resources to Arcwood Transport and contracted drivers arriving at our landfill to offload containers and dump trucks.

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
• Removes tarps and bows from dump trucks and containers; completes container lining and maintenance
• Removes residual waste from trucks/container tailgates after loads are dumped at landfill; cleans/washes and inspects containers prior to their departure from site
• Removes placards and labels using scrapers from previous generators after trucks and containers are dumped
• Cleans any spills that occur in the unloading area
• Hooks and unhooks trailers while operator is moving equipment into the desired area
• Inspects container tarps, bungee cords, bows, ratchet binders, tailgate seals, and general container integrity
• Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization

Education

- High-school diploma or equvialent (required)

Experience

• 1+ years of related experience (preferred); appropriate training will be provided
