Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Livingston is seeking an experienced Transport First Line Manager to lead a busy transport operation. You will ensure transport plans meet customer, operational and network requirements and drive performance to achieve SLAs and KPIs.

You will supervise drivers and clerical staff, conduct performance reviews, ensure Driver Hours compliance and fleet regulations, and promote a strong health and safety culture across the department.

Qualifications

• Proven people management experience in transport.
• Experience in a transport office, logistics or wider supply chain.
• Strong knowledge of Driver Hours legislation and Working Time Directive.
• Able to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Deliver transport plans effectively to ensure customer, operational and network requirements are met.
• Supervise and coordinate daily transport activities, ensuring productivity targets are met safely.
• Lead, manage and motivate drivers and transport clerical staff through coaching and performance management.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and engagement activities to support development.
• Ensure drivers remain legal and compliant, focusing on Driver Hours and fleet regulations.
• Maintain clear communication across transport, warehouse and customer stakeholders.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture and ensure company policies are followed.

Shift patterns: Working any 5 from 7, 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm on rotation
Location: Livingston

We are looking for an experienced and driven Transport First Line Manager (FLM) to join our busy transport operation. This is a key leadership role, responsible for the successful execution of transport plans while ensuring all transport and network service levels (SLAs) and KPIs are achieved.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Deliver transport plans effectively to ensure customer, operational and network requirements are met
• Supervise and coordinate daily transport activities, ensuring productivity targets and deadlines are achieved safely and efficiently
• Lead, manage and motivate drivers and transport clerical colleagues through effective communication, coaching and performance management
• Conduct regular performance reviews, one-to-one meetings and engagement activities to support colleague development and wellbeing
• Ensure drivers remain legal and compliant at all times, with a strong focus on Driver Hours, Working Time Directive regulations and fleet compliance
• Maintain clear communication across the transport department, warehouse operation and customer stakeholders
• Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring all company policies and procedures are followed.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Previous people management experience within a transport environment is essential
• Experience working within a transport office, logistics or wider supply chain operation
• Strong knowledge of Driver Hours legislation, Working Time Directive regulations and transport compliance requirements
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams in a fast-paced operational environment
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
