Summary
As a Transportation Driver CNA, you will be responsible for providing safe and secure transportation of patients to and from hospitals, medical offices, dialysis centers, and private residences while maintaining a high level of customer service and ensuring the safety of residents at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Hours 9am-5:30pm
- Provide a high level of customer service while transporting residents to and from activities, appointments, and other outings
- Assist residents with boarding and leaving the bus, securing wheelchairs and walkers, and loading and unloading luggage and packages
- Monitor resident safety on the bus, while boarding and departing the vehicle, and at the entrance and exit of buildings
- Conduct daily vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Complete daily vehicle report logs and maintain accurate activity logs
- Follow all safety procedures and protocol as dictated by local policy, federal and state regulations, and standard practice
- Report all hazardous conditions, defective equipment, and accidents or incidents to the supervisor immediately
- Maintain accurate records and reports
Qualifications
- Must have a CNA license
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Active Illinois Driver's License required
- Class C license with a passenger endorsement or Class E license for vehicles transporting 14 or fewer passengers
- DOT compliant physical and annual physician's statement for drivers between the ages of 71 and 74
- Experience as a bus or van driver preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs, push/pull up to 275 pounds, and move intermittently throughout the workday

- Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs, push/pull up to 275 pounds, and move such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and occasional exposure to emotionally upset residents or family members
