Job summary

Unity Hospital is seeking a patient transport/communication specialist to respond to incoming calls, direct callers, and ensure accurate information is relayed. You will work with the PBX system, headsets, and other equipment to maintain efficient hospital operations.

Roles include handling overhead paging, alarm monitoring, and keeping directories up to date. We value calmness under emergencies and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • GED or high school diploma required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and work well in a team.
  • Ability to remain calm and perform well in emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Answer multiple inbound telephone lines and transfer calls to correct extensions.
  • Update directories and assist with on-call lists.
  • Learn and use PBX phone system, headsets, and related equipment.
  • Perform overhead paging and monitor alarms; notify appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational data.
