Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Billing resource to Operations Management and Business Development.
  • Maintain and ensure documentation needed for billing is in CAD prior to dispatch.
  • Schedule transport in CAD.
  • Obtain payment or guarantee prior to transport for non-medically necessary transports.
  • Pursue and obtain co-payments and deductibles before transport.
  • Provide price quotes for private pay transports and secure payment.
  • Foster a strong team environment through communication and consistency.
  • Cross-train in other functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Billing resource to Operations Management and Business Development.
  • Maintain and ensure that all appropriate documentation needed for billing is documented in CAD prior to dispatch.
  • Schedule transport in CAD.
  • Obtain payment or a formal guarantee of payment prior to transport for all transports deemed not medically necessary as defined by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Ambulance Policy Manual – Chapter 10.
  • Actively pursue and obtain co-payments and deductibles prior to transport for all non-emergency transports.
  • Provide price quotes for all private pay transports, local and long distance and obtain payment prior to transport.
  • Create and maintain a strong team environment through communication, motivation, and consistency.
  • Continuously cross-train in other function areas.
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Familiarity with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services regulations (ambulance).
  • Must be able to type 40-50 wpm.

  • Must have a sense of urgency for all work performed.
