Position Summary

The Briarwood Community is seeking a friendly, dependable, and patient Per Diem Resident Transportation Driver to join our Transportation Team. This flexible position provides safe, courteous transportation for residents traveling to medical appointments, shopping trips, community programs, and other destinations.

Our drivers do more than simply provide transportation. They help residents maintain their independence while ensuring a safe, comfortable, and welcoming experience.

Hours: Approximately 5-10 Hours Per Week

Schedule: Flexible based on resident transportation needs, medical appointments, programs, and community outings.

Key Responsibilities

• Electric car
• Wheelchair-accessible van
• Transport residents to medical appointments, shopping trips, community programs, outings, and other scheduled destinations.
• Ensure residents safely reach appropriate entrances and destinations.
• Provide reasonable assistance and support when needed while encouraging resident independence.
• Safely secure walkers, wheelchairs, and other mobility devices during transport.
• Operate wheelchair lifts and securement systems following required training.
• Assist with groceries, packages, mobility equipment, meals, mail, supplies, and other deliveries as needed.
• Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, organization, and readiness.
• Communicate delays, schedule changes, vehicle concerns, and resident needs promptly.
• Follow all transportation schedules, safety procedures, and department guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to successfully complete required background and driver screening checks.
• Previous experience working with older adults or providing passenger transportation is preferred but not required.
