Job summary

The University at Buffalo seeks a Research Scientist in Surgery to contribute to clinical and hospital-based transplant research. Under supervision, you will work with the Department of Surgery and partners both within UB and the community to advance science and patient care.

Responsibilities include developing grant proposals, conducting studies and data analyses, disseminating results via publications and presentations, and providing statistical and programming support to the team.

Qualifications

• Requires graduate degree (MD/DO) and ability to apply theory to data.
• Experience in outcomes research, patient-reported outcomes, retrospective and prospective data analyses, transplant or health services research.
• Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop research proposals and grant applications.
• Study conduct and data analysis.
• Disseminate results through publications and presentations.
• Provide primary or supplementary statistical and programming support for team projects.
• Assist residents in developing and executing their research concepts.
• Prepare and submit IRB applications and related administrative tasks.
