Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a lead RN to coordinate the evaluation and listing of transplant candidates and oversee care before and after transplant. You will serve as the main contact for patients, physicians, pharmacies, and insurers, and participate in program development and quality initiatives.

The role emphasizes collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team and ongoing research to improve transplant outcomes, with eligibility for PSLF and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Five years of related nursing experience required; no substitutions.
• Current RN license or eligibility in Alabama required.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead capacity to coordinate evaluation of potential transplant candidates.
• Add patients to the transplant waiting list and prepare patients for transplantation.
• Coordinate post-transplant care and act as primary contact for patients, physicians, pharmacies, and insurers.
• Participate in program research, develop guidelines, and support quality improvement initiatives.
