Job summary

Atrium Health – Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an experienced Transplant Nephrologist to join our comprehensive kidney transplant program. This role supports pre- and post-transplant patient management, quality initiatives, and program growth within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certified or board eligible in Nephrology.
• Completion of an AST-accredited Transplant Nephrology Fellowship (or equivalent experience).
• Eligible for full and unrestricted medical licensure in the state of North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient transplant nephrology care across the continuum (pre- and post-transplant) with primary focus post-transplant management.
• Build and expand a multidisciplinary post kidney transplant clinic with care model design and patient pathways.
• Lead quality oversight, outcomes monitoring, and regulatory readiness within the program.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary transplant team including surgeons, APPs, pharmacists, nurses, social work, and leadership.
• Participate in transplant selection meetings and program leadership discussions.
• Limited inpatient transplant nephrology coverage as needed to support continuity of care.
• Contribute to program development, education, and clinical protocols.
