Job summary

Albany Medical College seeks a board-certified or board-eligible Transplant Nephrologist to join its expanding multidisciplinary abdominal transplant program. The role combines transplant nephrology with general nephrology, offering opportunities to influence program direction within an academic setting.

The ideal candidate will have fellowship training in Transplant Nephrology, NY licensure eligibility, and a commitment to education, quality improvement, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Fellowship in Transplant Nephrology from an accredited program.
• MD/DO or equivalent with board certification/eligibility in Nephrology.
• Eligible for medical licensure in New York state.
• Academic experience or interest for appointment at Assistant/Associate Professor level.

Responsibilities

• Provide combined transplant nephrology and general nephrology care.
• Participate in inpatient transplant care and multidisciplinary rounds.
• Manage immunosuppression and graft function in kidney transplant recipients.
• Share transplant-related inpatient consults and nephrology call duties.
• Engage in outpatient transplant clinics including recipient and donor evaluations, and post-transplant follow-up.
• Lead or participate in organ offer reviews and recipient selection discussions.
